Ashamed Franken Returning to the Senate on Monday
Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) vowed to regain his constituents trust on Sunday, saying he was ashamed by the revelations from four women who claim that the senator groped them. He gave no indication that he was planning to resign. Im embarrassed and ashamed. Ive let a lot of people down and Im hoping I can make it up to them and gradually regain their trust,Franken said, adding that he is returning to the Senate on Monday. Some of the alleged groping incidents occurred when Franken was posing for photos with the women. I dont remember these photographs, I dont, he said. This is not something I would intentionally do. He vowed to be more careful and a lot more sensitive in these situations, and has said he would cooperate with a Senate Ethics Committee investigation into his conduct.
