Vonnegut Book Club: A Man Without A Country

The year 2005 is an oddly long time ago. Many of you reading this were children, or younger, or maybe even not born yet. Well in 2005, Kurt Vonnegut was thirty-two years older than he was when he described his Breakfast of Champions surrogates as “two lonesome, skinny, fairly old white men on a planet which was dying fast.” And to his chagrin, 2005 Kurt felt exactly the same way about our planet, with an added dash of fury about our leadership. And what did he do about it? He wrote A Man Without A Country, one of the finest self-encapsulations in the history of literature.

Join the Kurt Vonneguys Alex Schmidt and Michael Swaim as they go on their last Vonnegut ride. Rediscover the madness of the Bush years, the magic that made Kurt Vonnegut the greatest author of all time, and the joy that Alex & Michael feel each and every time they explore Kurt’s stuff together.
